2020 was supposed to be the Decade of Action ~ where we achieved Agenda 2030

The Transforming our World Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Then along came Covid-19 : a global pandemic

AGENDA 2030 consists of 17 Goals and 169 associated Targets.

In 2015 all 193 UN Member States approved the  programme. All  SDGs must be done, not just a few easy ones.

Tongareva doesn't have any cities, but we act in a responsible and sustainable way. Use little, plant more than we take, think of the future.

We are active with Goal 13 climate action, Goal 14 life below water, Goal 15 life on land.

In June 2020 Hakono Hararanga became a member of the UNEP's:

Global Partnership on Marine Litter  (GPML)

31st July 2020 we contributed data to the Global Stocktake on Marine Litter. This is a first effort to capture the true scale of projects around the world that address the huge problem of oceanic plastics, fishing gear & other pollutants.
